A new YouTube channel is born on day one of Elise Girard’s quarantine. She tweets it out with some of her already used Alexandra hashtags:

The video starts from the perspective of Elise sitting at her desk in her room. It’s lamplight illuminated and she’s sitting in the soft glow of it in a red plaid shirt over a black tank top with ehr grey black toque on top of her cascading black brown hair. Her deep brown eyes always look a little large with her otherwise small and soft facial features. She has a small soft voice as well as she begins to speak, her animated smiling face in the center of the screen.
“Hello YouTube land. Elise here...Alexandra Angel. Formerly of the Banff Babes. Hi Emma! Hi Ava! I miss you both so much! I know I’ll always be a Banff Babe in my heart of hearts but I’m living the island life now so I’m spinning off.” She circles her head in the air like the room is spinning “Wooooo….ok let’s not do that again….bleh!” She leans on her hand now like she’s conspiring with her audience on a little secret. “So...I’m under quarantine. I know. It’s the new fad diet. But I thought I’d document it, really just to amuse myself, because let’s face it boys and girls, I’m delightful.” She gives the camera a cheesy grin “And modest. And very social so you’re all coming on this ride. How do we survive a quarantine?” She rolls her chair back a bit “I live with my family so this…” She gestures around her room “Is IT.”
Elise’s room is fairly tidy but a little packed to the gills with books and goofy kitsch knick knacks and there’s barely any bare wall space. She has posters of musicians and bands; A Tribe Called Red, Mimi O’Bosawin, Billie Eillish, and Ed Sheeran and a movie poster of The Grizzlies, a pennant of The Calgary Flames and the Metis flag - blue background with a white infinity symbol on it. She gestures around at a little folding table set up behind her with a coffee maker and a microwave and a little crate shelving area full of a few dry goods and snacks. Underneath it you can see the top of a little bar fridge. “I’ve got a mini kitchen going on here with my coffee...because coffee is life. I still have to use the bathroom across the hall but we have a cleaning procedure now where I basically walk out spraying disinfectant in my wake. It’s strong enough to knock out a horse I swear.” She points forward “And my laptop provides entertainment, Netflix and my iTunes library, my tunes….” She grins “So tell me what you think I should do to stay sane. I’m open to any and all suggestions. Keep them clean please as this is meant to be an all ages show. My little brother is watching...or he should be. Hi Stef!” She waves and then some yelling can be heard from downstairs with a muffled “Hi Elise!” She laughs “There he is. And maybe some of my little cousins if they got the link.” She blows a kiss.”To the good folks in Peavine, to the lovely people of Banff especially the Babes, and to the new friends tuning in from my new home in Alexandra here on the island. Stay safe everyone. Mask up, wash your hands and all that stuff. Like and subscribe please. Elise out…” And she reaches her hand forward and clicks off the recording.
Nolan Lancaster bookmarked the YouTube and Twitter accounts of those he was isolating with, but did not subscribe or follow anyone. He felt that would be wrong, considering why they were all in isolation. But he watched. He had accounts on both YouTube and Twitter and other places. Hoping with his mother, he’d started anew … new email, new YouTube and Twitter … all of that. A play on words … he was AnonyMuse2020.
